The IP address 192.168.2.1 is the default for various models of home broadband routers including SMC and Belkin models. 192.168.2.1 is a private IP address not designed for use on the Internet.

Definition: The IP address 192.168.0.1 is the default for certain home broadband routers, principally various D-Link and Netgear models. This address is set by the manufacturer at the factory, but you can change it at any time using the network router's administrative console.
192.168.0.1 is a private IPv4 network address. Home routers can use it to establish the [default gateway. On such routers, you can access its administrative console by pointing a Web browser to http://192.168.0.1.
Any brand of router, or any computer on a local network for that matter, can be set to use this address or a comparable private IPv4 address. As with any IP address, only one device on the network should use 192.168.0.1 to avoid address conflicts.

Definition: 192.168.2.2 is the second IP address in the range 192.168.2.1 - 192.168.2.255, sometimes called the 192.168.2.0 network. A router can assign 192.168.2.2 to any device on the local network automatically, or an administrator can do it manually.

What is a Router?:

The router, at least the common home network device that we usually call a router, is the piece of network hardware that allows communication between your local home network - i.e. your personal computers and other connected devices - and the Internet.

How to Change Network LAN Settings the Easy Way

Occasionally, you have to troubleshoot internet connection or simple LAN connectivity because the techie guy is out for a short vacation. And things might go out of hand if you don’t know where to find the things you need to check to get things back to normal. But what can you do? It just so happened that you’re the only one left at the office and you need to connect to a company server to finish the job. Immediately you made that phone call to the techie guy to ask for help.

Upon talking with the guy, some technical terms sounds greek to you, Control Panel, DNS, Firewall, DHCP, Subnet Mask, IP address, Default Gateway etc. The guy talking to you said that you need to access these network adapter settings to have a successful connection to the server.

By using Simple IP Config tool you can have instant access to the network adapter settings in one full screen. You do not have to switch windows in configuring the DNS, IP Address, Firewall etc. because all of these can be access via a single graphical interface. Even better, if your computers have multiple network cards you just have to select it from a drop down list under the “Select Adapter” portion of the application window. Upon launching the app, you should now see the the IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS Server settings, Firewall and DHCP. After making the necessary changes, don’t forget to finalize all the settings by hitting the “Submit” button for the changes to take effect immediately.

1. Remove spyware, and help protect your computer from viruses

Spyware collects personal information without letting you know and without asking for permission. 4. Detect and repair disk errors

As you use your hard drive, it can develop bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing (such as file saving) difficult or even impossible. The Error Checking utility scans the hard drive for bad sectors and scans for file system errors to see whether certain files or folders are misplaced.
