Creating Local Users in Windows XP SP3

Creating a local user in Windows XP SP3 is really simple; there are a lot of reasons why you should create a local user on your windows desktop, but my main reason is to secure my profile, be because I don't want other people messing with my desktop and settings.
For these reasons, this article will help you to create local users on you Windows computer.
Well, as a start I will assume that you are already familiar with the Widows interfaces and you are logged-in as a administrator on your PC.

6 Steps in Creating Local Users in Windows XP SP3

1. Right click on your "My Computer" icon, and then select "Manage" then a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) will appear on your desktop which looks like the image below.
2. Then expand the "Local Users and Groups" icon, and then you will see the "Users" and "Groups" folders, as shown in the image below.
3. Then click on the "Users" folder and then you will notice the user list on the right side of the window as shown below.
4. Then right click on the blank space on the right side of the window and then a menu will appear then select "new user" and a window will appear as shown below.
5. Then type your desired user name on the "User name" text box, the your full name and description (optional), then click the check box "Password never expires", then type your desired "Password" then retype the password on the " "Confirm password". Note: I suggest that your password should be a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols for a stronger password combination.
6. Then your done! enjoy
